safety considerations

This is NOT an all inclusive SAFETY PAGE by any means. These are just some points. I am sure you can probably think of alot more. However, take a look at what I came up with here and see what you think.
DRIVING safety is a serious issue. Of course there is the BIG ONE of DUI. When considering DUI most people think of ALCOHOL or OTHER SUBSTANCES like tobacco or marijuana or drugs or what have you. However there is also the DEPRIVATION of sleep, which would be labeled something like "under the influence of a lack of sleep". There is also the notion of being SICK and thus ADVERSELY IMPAIRED and such.
SMOKE INHALATION dangers: mouth(teeth gums etc), esophagus, lungs, glands, blood, brain etc. Think about it. I smoked for like ten years, and I wish I did not smoke as much as I did... I think I damaged myself.
SAFETY GLASSES : Consider them when cooking over a stove or oven, there is HEAT and where there is heat there is the potential for "movement" ~ water/steam could hit you or oil if you use oil or maybe food particles or sometimes RIVETS from pans, believe it or not.
"When tuning/playing your guitar(or other stringed instrument),
you may wish to wear safety glasses. Strings can break under
tension and cause injury, perhaps to your eyes."
Working with all types of POWER TOOLS. Mowing the lawn. IN the car when riding with the window down, I got hit in the cheek once with a small stone or something, a few centimeters higher and it could have hit and quite possibly damaged my eye.
.
KNIFE safety in kitchen, sometimes we get "distracted" and do not pay attention and then that's when it happens ~ we end up cutting ourselves... we need "culinary pliers" to hold the fruit or vegetable that we are slicing. IN GENERAL Our fingers are WAY TOO CLOSE to knife blades today.
Some may say that the RISK of going into the OCEAN and swimming is too great in the first place. If you do go there may be some things you would want to consider. GOGGLES when in OCEAN, and ATHLETIC CUP PROTECTOR... some may suggest a HELMET in some situations.
The athletic CUP PROTECTOR is also a device to be considered by those in the construction industry and other types of industry as well. Obviously it is used in sports by atheletes.
FUMES : from all sorts of things/emmison-sources. The Attached garage that fills the house with car exhaust.(such exhaust in general in our world) What about "Car upholstery", or other products/gear that gives off dangerous chemical fumes due to the chemistry of the product and the FRYABILITY of that product. Plants that are being grown with dangerous growing media. CERTAIN Perfumes. It's really alot about chemistry in this category ~ some fumes/chemicals are stable and safe others are DANGEROUS. Picture all the LAUNDRY FUMES people have been BREATHING all these years. It can be like smoking cigarettes. Chemistry. Picture chemicals in general which "cloud/clog" people's BRAINS to the degree that they can not break from something, something like perhaps like a misguided behavior.
Fire dangers....Smoke/particulate-matter.
WATER-QUALITY
CHEMICAL USE
SAfety concerns with : Intimate relations. (including kissing)
LIFE VEST for water-craft users.
Ice dangers, walking on and stuff falling off roof areas...DRIVING in icey or wet conditions.
Sometimes we find ourselves "entranced" almost when driving, we really need to avoid this condition
Amusement rides/planes ~ know your limitations, develop the sense.
Walking out in the street we get caught up in the paper or on CELL PHONE or personal conversation and sometimes we don't really pay attention and we walk right out into street without looking both ways... can be very dangerous.
WORK GLOVES : variety of industry
CHAINSAWS... that's something to think about...
SHOE SAFETY AT THE DOOR: petroleum and dog-waste, other dirt etc
Riding your bike. Helmet and glasses are probably the main elements. Also the consideration of WHERE you ride. There are things that I did when I was YOUNGER that I would suggest were NOT wise ~ from the mountain to the roadside. What is the risk, is it worth it to you?
Skate-boarding/roller-skating/roller-blading : consider helmet and pads.
SKI-ING/SNOW-BOARDING/ice-skating : Helmet and Pads.
Now, with the helmet consideration I have seen people with those MOTOR-CROSS type helmets using such for snowboarding ~ are they safer? It seems like they would be safer, they protect the whole face/head more...
BASE BALL FACE MASK for FIELDERS/batters : When I was a kid in this life I nearly died, I very easilly could have. The ball came down and BAM! (hit me in the nose)... I do not think it is a responsible thing for a parent to place kid on a BALL-FIELD without a facemask. If an adult wishes to NOT wear a mask, then that is his choice. However, we have to think about child safety here ~ one hit to the head/face and that could be the end or there could be BRAIN INJURY.(a suggestion may simply be something like a catcher's mask or a lacrosse helmet)
.
Be careful falling asleep with someone(FOR EXAMPLE: human-baby or canine-dog) around if they are in your bed or elsewhere where they can come into the room~ they may not know any better and they may CHOMP YOU, on various BODY parts, it may be minor or it may be severe. Or they may jab OBJECTS into you... This does not mean you would not bring a child into bed for comfort as sometimes a parent does ... it is just that the parent should most likely remain awake. Or sometimes you go to the bedside of the child and nurture the child at their bed side.(I don't mean to present the obvious I know most of you know about this)
LICKING ENVELOPES ~ what is it?
DUST MASKS, various different activites... Some operations may require RESPIRATORS or actual GAS-MASKS or separate AIR SUPPLIES.
RAG-PILES : flamability
Riding your bike on the side/shoulder of the road
TRUCKS that maybe were designed for LIMITED USE being sold out on the OPEN ROAD MARKET~ Truck perhaps better suited for : loading-docks, farms and orchards where they are not going highspeed and less risk of FRONT END COLLISION...
CERTAIN FERTILIZER~ experimental/narcotic like fertilizer being distributed on open market
What color of AUTO is the safest?(visibility etc)... there are various factors to consider... It may vary ~ light conditions of region.
We all take certain risks and tradeoffs at times, for example ~ if I go roller-skating I may decide to wear a helmet, however, I may be going slow to the extent that I decide to go without other pads ~ knowing there is a risk in what I am doing however it's not as heavy of a risk as if I was perhaps involved in a competition or something.
Perhaps there are certain activities in general that most people would come to consider too dangerous.
At the end of the day we need to allow freedoms to people who are not infringing upon others. For example, I may not choose to ROCK CLIMB or SMOKE because I think such activities are dangerous... however if my neighbor is doing such without wrongly infringing upon others, then that should remain his choice.
